After waiting for over fifteen years, the cast of Friends came together for an unscripted reunion that aired yesterday worldwide. Not only was this the second time they were all together in the same room but also was a walk through some beautiful memories they made during the ten years of the show. Hosted by James Corden, Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Shwimmer, Matthew Perry and Matt LeBlanc came together for an interview and some nostalgic segments to reminisce about the show.
The reunion also had some fun cameos by loved characters like Gunther, Jill, Janice and Richard but the viewers did miss seeing two major characters join in the cast during the show. Paul Rudd who played Mike and Cole Sprouse who essayed the role of baby Ben were definitely missed in the show.
Talking about their absence, director Ben Winston said, “Well, we couldn’t have everybody on, because it’s only an hour and 45 minutes. And you’ve got to pay attention — the main nub of the show has got to be about the six cast members. So you can’t have too many cameos because of course, there were hundreds of amazing people who were in Friends over the years. Sadly, we couldn’t get everybody in. You know, we did invite some people who weren’t able to make it. It’s a complicated time to be making television now because, you know, some people couldn’t fly internationally, some people were on other TV or film shoots, some people were in bubbles on stuff.”
Well, though we missed seeing Mike and Phoebe together one last time, seeing our favourite characters from the show reunite was a gala in itself.
