Well, it’s been a week. Somehow, we’ve made it to Saturday morning, and this accomplishment deserves to be recognized. Krispy Kreme thinks so too, and today—along with the rest of the Saturdays in October—the chain is offering a dozen doughnuts for $1 when you purchase a dozen at regular price. Here’s what to know.

How to get this doughnut deal

Sure, it’s the beginning of the month that contains Halloween, but the folks at Krispy Kreme know the real reason why we could use some doughnuts right now. “2020 has brought enough spookiness,” the company’s website reads. “Face it, we’re all scared out.” Amen, Krispy Kreme.

So, starting today, when you buy any dozen doughnuts, you can purchase an additional dozen—specifically, their Halloween Sweet-or-Treat Dozen—for $1. The Sweet-or-Treat Dozen contains 11 original glazed doughnuts and one festive Jack-o-Lantern doughnut. ‘Tis the season.

You can get this deal by going into any of the participating locations today or any of the other Saturdays in October, or by using the promo code “SweetOrTreat” when ordering online.

Just to be safe, you might as well confirm that the Krispy Kreme you had in mind does, in fact, offer this deal. You can do that by clicking here and entering your city, state or ZIP code to find participating shops near you. If you’re in Canada, we’ll save you some time: this offer is only valid in British Columbia (sorry, other provinces…but at least you have Tim Horton’s).

So what kind of doughnut savings are we talking about? Let’s break it down. One dozen of Krispy Kreme’s original glazed doughnuts go for $7.99. With the deal, that means you can get 24 doughnuts for $8.99, which works out to 37 cents per doughnut. And over the course of the next four Saturdays, you could hypothetically get 96 doughnuts for $35.96. The cost goes up if the first dozen you buy are speciality doughnuts, but you’re still saving a good chunk of dough.

Is purchasing and/or consuming doughnuts in this quantity advisable? Nope (unless you were going to buy them to gift or donate, maybe?). But it’s possible, so we thought we’d let you know.
